Everyone knows that I am a songwriter and musician. I have been performing on stage on and off for 25 years, and I’ve had some great fun but tonight is a night I will remember for the rest of my life.
Tonight, Emily got on stage and sang a few songs in front of a small crowd at Moonsong Songwriter’s Cafe, in Gadsden, Alabama. I play a few songs every so often and tonight I was there to have a little dinner, not play. Danny asked me to get up and play a little piano since I am not quite over the flu and my voice sux.
While I was playing, Emily just walked up there and asked if she could sing a song with me. How cool is that? She climbed up on the stool and after she giggled for a bit, she sang three songs; “Jesus Loves Me”, “The Alphabet Song”, and the theme from “Scooby Doo.”
I have never pushed her to do anything like that but I truely believe she is a natural for performing. She also has the most amazing rythym for a child not quite five years old.
It was a magic moment for me and I wanted to share it with you.
