IF you know me, then you know that I think our country is in trouble. There are far too many things that happen these days that demonstrate what I am talking about.

Just this morning I was reading the news just like I do every workday (I try not to read the news on the weekend because I want to keep myself anger-free). While reading, I came across an article which described how three young men, two of them 17 and one a minor, desecrated a cemetery near Houston. Nothing new right? It happens all of the time these days.

Here’s the twist; they dug up a grave opened the casket, took part of the body home and severed the head. Now that is pretty bad but it doesn’t stop there. Guess what they did to the skull? They used it as a bong and smoked pot out of it. It gets worse but I’ll get to that in a minute.

How sick do you have to be to do this kind of thing? I mean, it’s bad enough that you decide to vandalize a cemetery. It’s un-excusable that you would dig up a grave at all. It’s unforgivable that you would take a body from its resting place, but it is an abomination to cut the head off and use it for a bong.

God, there is something wrong with the thought processes of someone who would even think about that.

Before I rant on, I want to say that I am not casting stones. I have visited many cemeteries after dark, you know, to scare friends or tell ghost stories, sometimes to take pictures. Two weeks ago, I even visited two cemeteries on a “Ghost Walk” of St. Augustine Florida. But I have never once ever thought of digging up anything, much less take it home with me.

Remember a while back I said it got worse. Well, it turns out this particular cemetery was reserved for Black men the were veterans and their families. Brave men that went to war and fought for these punks to have the right to decimate grave sites.

But this particular grave was not chosen because the occupant was Black. Nor because he was a veteran. It was chosen because it was the grave of a little boy named Willie Sims. He was 11 at the time of his death. So much for Rest In Peace.

One last piece of sad information. The head hasn’t been found yet.

If there is one bit of wisdom I can pass on to the reader, it is this; As you sow, so shall ye reap. In Hindu culture, this is represented as Karma. InĀ  the wisdom of folklore it is, “what comes around goes around.” I hope theirs comes around just when they need it most.

Until we meet again…
